Platinum Producer Timbaland Re-Teams with Partner In Rhyme Magoo
Platinum-selling rap duo Timbaland & Magoo join forces again to release their third studio album, UNDER CONSTRUCTION II on Universal/Blackground Records. The 19-track album that features collaborations with Wyclef Jean, Pharell Williams of the Neptunes and Bubba Sparxxx, amongst others is due in stores on November 18th.
The new disc has already yielded the radio hit, “Cop That Disc!,” which features Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliot. The track was the #1 Most Added Song at Urban Mainstream Radio outlets, and the #2 Most Added Song at Rhythm across the country. The second single, a sexy track “Indian Flute” is a sure hit. The innovator that he is, Timbaland introduces America to the enchanting vocals of famous Indian artist, Raje Shwari.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION II marks Timbaland and Magoo’s return to the rap world as a hip-hop duo. Their previous albums, the platinum Welcome to Our World (1997) and Indecent Proposal (2001) are both critically acclaimed.
Known first for his top-notch productions on Ginuwine’s debut CD and Aaliyah’s single, “If Your Girl Only Knew,” Timbaland went on to create a custom sound for other artists such as Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake and Brandy. The groundbreaking producer has won awards and accolades, including most recently the ASCAP’s 2003 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards Songwriter Of The Year.
Timbaland and Magoo met back in 1988 through a mutual friend, and both hail from the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, areas of Virginia. They’ve been best friends ever since.
