At first you may think the Tom Tom Club is stealing their style from Len, but they’ve been around longer than most of Len’s members have been alive. The Tom Tom Club is made up of former Talking Heads founders Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth.
TTC has some beautiful hooks to go along with fantastic beats. “Who Feelin’ It” is tops. Tina’s voice never gets annoying. I could absorb her cherubic sounds forever. The songs that she isn’t a part of are often boring, but when I heard Toots Hibbert guest on “She’s Dangerous”, I changed my tune.
TTC is fun and flavorful. It’s a brilliant album that brings some sun into a pretty dismal music scene.
