Supergrass – Life On Other Planets

Supergrass
Artist: Supergrass
Title: Life On Other Planets
Label: Island
Rating: 6/10

Corporate Line: Having wallowed long enough in international success and critical acclaim generated by their three previous albums–I Should Coco (1995), In It For The Money (1997) and Supergrass (a/k/a the X-ray Album, 2000)–the men of Supergrass are back and proud to present their fourth album, Life On Other Planets (L.O.O.P.).

The Good:
“Seen The Light” – Almost sounds like a T-Rex cover.
“Rush Hour Soul” – Not great, but good enough.
“Grace” – They have all the potential in the world too bad they seem so lazy.
“Prophet 15” – Why do they have to tease us so? This is what they have to offer, to bad they don’t spend more time on the bad songs and make them better.

The Mediocre:
“La Song” – It’s catchy as hell, too bad the lyrics are about as deep as Britney Spears.
“Funniest Thing” – Almost good.
“Za” – Not all that exciting. T-Rex again?
“Can’t Get Up” – Trite.

The Bad:
“Run” – What in the hell is this nonsense?

Frankly: Supergrass has seen better days. They either take them too serious or not serious enough.
