Sum 41 has been cranking out records faster than the record industry likes. Their style of punk isn’t new, or completely refreshing. They don’t write big hits like Blink-182 or Green Day, but they do bring a certain absurdity that is fun.
Absurd but good:
“Over My Head” – They are working their chops towards radio and it’s working.
“Still Waiting” – Perhaps the best track Sum 41 has released to date.
“Hyper-Insomnia-Para-Condrioid”
“Thanks For Nothing” – Sure we don’t take advice from these guys, but what if we did?
Absurd but absurd:
“The Hell Song” – Typical pop-punk track except its deeper emotional soul.
“Billy Spleen”
“My Direction” – Simple, yet seductive.
“No Brains” – Seems to leave the easy road of Green Day a step behind.
“All Messed Up” – Speaking of Green Day, this is too much like an old Green Day song.
Absurd but dumb:
“A.N.I.C.” – They want to prove they are hard-core, they aren’t.
