CORPORATE LINE: The story of Steriogram begins in New Zealands North Island, June of 1999. Brad and Jake, longtime friends from a tiny town called Whangarei meet up with Tim and Tyson who have been friends for years in Auckland, and they start playing shows around the area as a melodic rock four-piece. Making a name for themselves with a manic live show they quickly start to build a loyal local following.
THE GREAT:
Nothing.
THE AVERAGE:
“Road Trip” – A nice pop chorus that may find its way onto radio, however most of the song is a retread of a 311 song.
“Walkie Talkie Man” – Read the review for “Road Trip”—the only difference is the hint of Stone Temple Pilots ala “Tiny Music.”
“Go” – A little different—not good enough however.
“On And On” – Almost good, nowhere near great.
THE BAD:
“White Trash” – The sad thing is that Steriogram sounds like an oxymoron performing this track.
FRANKLY: Yawn. Steriogram bring nothing new to the table. Steriogram isn’t unique, unless you consider being 311 with accents unique. Just let it go.
