Buzz drops on American shores almost a year after its overseas release, trying to find Steps some fans as it seems their Euro-pop just hasn’t found a home in the States. Will Buzz change that?
For starters, “Buzzz” (yes, with three annoying z’s) sounds so general and unimpressive that it’s hard to understand why Steps are such a European sensation. “Happy Go Lucky” is downright embarrassing. “Stomp” is more disco than I ever want to consume.
“It’s The Way You Make Me Feel” is completely generic, yet it’s sure to find some teen fans. “Mars & Venus” at least has some sentimentality and emotion. “Here And Now” is once again a decent ballad, but I’m getting the feeling this is all Steps can do right. “Never Get Over You” does speed it up and finally finds them hitting their stride.
