Perfect Self is Stereomud’s debut, an album that might just get lost in the resurgence of a rock metal hybrid.
The first single, “Pain”, is pretty damn melodic, but what song isn’t on radio today? It doesn’t have that one thing to make it stand out. I hate to say it, but I couldn’t pick Stereomud out of a musical lineup.
Stereomud is typical of most music coming out today. They are mostly just clones riding the same road that everyone else did a year before them. Maybe they’ve been driving in a van trying to kick around the country to make a living for six years, but now they are here and the time isn’t right.
