Blessid Union Of Souls have a cult following and what I thought were two real singles with “I Believe” and “Let Me Be the One”. Yet somehow they’ve got what amounts to a greatest hits album after only three records. What’s up with that?
Honestly, I don’t know who will buy this. Real fans would already have owned the first album, Home, with the two singles already mentioned. The Singles doesn’t flow well at all. Each of their three albums sounds different, at least to my ears. It’s almost as if three bands put together a few of their best songs. The problem is that this album wouldn’t even be a great album if it wasn’t a greatest hits release. It’s all over the place and even the three new songs can’t make it work right.
Blessid Union might be just trying to get the last record in to complete a contract in order to move away from their current label, or maybe they’re just looking for some extra cash to help pay the mortgage, but this album isn’t really worth buying. If you want an album from these guys, I’d tell you to buy Home and that’d be the end of it.
