Starsailor is another British band peddling sounds that are similar to their predecessors Radiohead and Travis.
Now hear this:
“Good Souls” – is a power punch to the belly.
“Lullaby” – slowly this song creeps into every inch of you.
“Talk Her Down” – the melody takes it all on and wins. That piano is a great addition.
“Love Is Here” – something about this song just touches you gently.
Not too shabby:
“Tie Up My Hands”- a lovely track full of emotion.
“Poor Misguided Fool” – singer James Walsh’s voice takes the song over and makes something simple, simply beautiful.
“Way To Fall” – depth for sure.
“Fever” – doesn’t seem to have the depth, but does have the melody.
Just skip this:
“Alcoholic”- there seems to be love and emotion, but the song is plain annoying.
As much as Starsailor meets you someplace between joy and pain they walk too much on the line of monotony. Each song has its unique sound, but then again they still sort of sound the same. The pace is too slow too long. Even with that said Love Is Here is undeniably good and stands up listen after listen.
