Static-X – Machine

Static-X
Artist: Static-X
Title: Machine
Label: Warner Bros.
Rating: 7/10

Static-X doesn’t care about trends. They don’t care about making friends. And they don’t care if you like what they are doing. They are going to make music that is bottom heavy and that is ready to rip your head from its base.

The opener, “Get To The Gone”, is brutally compact. It’s this relentless method that exploits the madness. “Machine” is funky and heavy. It’s as interesting as it is impossible. “Black And White” thumps like the heavens giving Wayne Static a chance to visit vocals at all angles.

Machine isn’t much of a reach. I mean, how much do you expect these cats to mature in only a few years? “Shit In A Bag” is just an indicator of pushing the limits while “Machine” explores the options. Static-X may not be revolutionary, but they sure are entertaining.
