Blind Faith had the member potential to become the biggest group of all time. Even though they only stayed together for one album, its members were already legends: Eric Clapton and Baker had been two thirds of Cream, Steve Winwood led Traffic, and bassist Rick Grech came from Family.
This edition gives you twice the music initially offered, but ends up being nothing but fodder and not really interesting after an initial visit. The good comes in the original tunes, like “Can’t Find My Way Home” and “Presence Of The Lord”. The bad is the talking. The Beatles worked this well, but here it’s drudgery. The ugly is that the five jams are long and often unbelievably drawn out. I can enjoy a good jam, especially when Clapton is in the house, but this is really overdoing it. Cha-ching.
Blind Faith had their time, though short-lived. Separately, these guys influenced a generation. If you happen to be a fan of any of the Blind Faith members, you may want to scoop this up. If not, you don’t necessarily get what you pay for.
