Out of Youngstown, Ohio, come a bunch of guys with stars in their eyes.
Sinomatic opens blistering about what sounds like love in “Bloom”, but singer Cooper says “in reality it’s a song about drugs, about cocaine.” “You’re Mine” is seductive in its hook while not selling out too much. And then comes the body moving “Tell A Lie” to save the day.
These guys are much better at rocking than they are at hitting the romantic mode. “What Love Is” just doesn’t quite do it and neither does “Girlfriend”.
Sinomatic don’t sit on their laurels and just let the album die at the end. “One Life” builds into a catch rock-pop-candy addiction. I’m not going to wait for Sinomatic to change the face of music, but I’m satisfied enough just to know someone is still making rock.
