SlowRush is the incarnation of singer/songwriter Rob Daiker, who himself has gone through many musical incarnations. SlowRush offers you all aspects of Daiker, from pop to metal.
Volume starts off fast with the refreshing rocker “Concrete Bubble”. Making love the dirty yet passionate way is the cellar in which “Junkie” dwells. Its pop-metal collage is fabulous. Most tracks mix up singer/songwriter Rob Daiker’s vocal pitch; “Mono” delivers a great effect that isn’t overdone.
“Star” comes out low, but builds into a beautiful ballad. Right on the ballad’s heels comes the attack of “Breathe”. The great thing about this album is the breaking apart of monotony. You won’t find yourself getting bored. I particularly like “Selfish” and its glossy sound. “Pain” brings a groove that is undeniable.
Volume is a great record, period. It rarely lags and continues to push on until the last seconds, as “Weight” bares down upon you. If your rock appetite has become more like a diet, then SlowRush should get you back on track.
