Company Line: Jacksonville, Florida, has enjoyed a long and stirring rock and roll tradition. From the time the seminal guitar crunch of Lynyrd Skynyrd first put this vibrant city on the rock and roll map, J-ville has played an integral role in the on-going evolution of contemporary music. Now a young Jacksonville-based hard rock band named Shinedown appears ready, willing, and more-than-able to add another exciting chapter to their home town’s noble rock history book.
The Good:
If you think this is good then you’ve got questionable taste.
The Marginal:
“Fly From The Inside” and “Left Out” – Your typical rock track. Try to pick these guys out of a line up.
The Ugly:
“Better Version” – If it wasn’t worse they have to give us a bad Korn rip.
Frankly: Shinedown sounds like everything you heard a million times before. They are as generic and forgettable as much of rock ‘n’ roll today. You’ll listen and you’ll be angry because you bought the album.
