Tupac Shakur – Better Dayz

Tupac Shakur
Artist: Tupac Shakur
Title: Better Dayz
Label: Interscope
Rating: 5/10

Back from the dead? You’ve got to wonder where the hell they keep coming up with 2Pac material from. Better Dayz features twenty new tracks the big question is are they even worth the time? Almost every track features another rapper to make up for missing material and the tracks seem to have never been completely finished.

Better Dayz:
“Thugz Mansion” – Nas joins in for an acoustic track. It makes you wish 2Pac was still around and had a chance to explore more tracks with this touch.
“Better Dayz” – A bitter pill to swallow, but this was his life and he was only trying to relay it to his fans.

Okay Dayz:
“My Block”
“Who Do U Believe In”
“Late Night” – Average at best.
“Still Ballin’” and “When We Ride On Our Enemies” – Tame, except for the cursing.

Seen Better Dayz:
“Never B Peace” – It’s dark and prophetic, just not good.
“Mama’s Just A Little Girl” – Painful to listen to. Mediocre.

2Pac was one of the greatest hip-hop artists period, but they keep digging up mediocre tracks that 2Pac threw away and present them to us as new will only tarnish his career. Most artists will record forty tracks for a record and only use twenty of them because the others aren’t good. Tupac threw away these tracks during Makaveli and they end up here for profit. It’s a shame; these were released just to line Suge Knight’s pockets.
