Remy Shand is a white boy with one hell of a soulful voice.
Heat me up:
“The Way I Feel” – a chance for Shand to show off his deep soulful voice. A little on the right of Jamiroquai and somewhere down the line from Maxwell.
“The Second One” – a great homage to the days when soul music was just that.
“The Colour Of Day” – completely sexy and shows why someone like Marvin Gaye was so beloved.
“Take A Message” – Again Shand comes off well with the sexy voice and heartfelt dance around hearts and souls.
“I Met Your Mercy” – finally a slow song that doesn’t sound slow.
Lukewarm:
“Burning Bridges” – too slow for its own good.
“Everlasting” – terrible soulful and almost completely enjoyable except for its lack of a great hook or excitement.
“Child Of The Wild West” – Roni Size is hot. Cypress Hill is not.
Remy Shand is onto something good. He has the soul of soul singers past and a voice that lasts and lasts.
