This Aussie duo came from nowhere with their hugely successful debut record. Their sugary-sweet pop candy was infectious as hell and scored big with the kids. This album is full of ups and downs that gave me a toothache.
Singer Darren Hayes proves he can do his best boy-band pop, and even breaks away with a few rockers. “The Best Thing” is about the only song I could stomach. The album lacks any essence of depth and plays too much to the already stuffed boy-band pop craze that is infecting the world. Writer/guitarist Daniel Jones seems to want to cash in on the fad now. It’s just too bad they may not have another chance after this bomb.
