Who Is Jill Scott? I don’t really know, but the album just might answer that question.
“Gettin’ In The Way” is a sweet song with a message that’s not what it seems. The album is deep and perhaps nothing goes deeper than Jill’s story of falling in love on “A Long Walk”. “Love Rain” features Mos Def. Jill’s spoken word is nice the first time around, but gets less attractive with each listen.
“Watching Me” has a nice melody, much like most of this album. Jill Scott has a nicely soothing voice. My only real trouble with the album is that the last track, “Try”, a song not to be missed, begins twenty-seven tracks after the last track. Those twenty-seven tracks are just one-second skips, but it’s annoying nonetheless.
