The Rocking Horse Winner has borrowed Jolie Lindholm from Dashboard Confessional and has gotten off.
Great:
“Orange Blossom” and “Error” – Undeniable flavor. The melodies pop with each line and you can’t help but get excited.
Good:
“When Songbirds Sing” – Lovely.
“Novelty” – Perhaps.
The Rocking Horse Winner starts off like a blast from a cannon. The album gets off good out of the blocks but where are the rest of the songs that so locked us in from the start? Who knows. The songs start to fade and disappear altogether the further you get into the album. It’s not that songs are bad they just don’t stand out beyond track two.
