Public Enemy – Revolverlution

Public Enemy
Artist: Public Enemy
Title: Revolverlution
Label: Koch
Rating: 4/10

Public Enemy release tracks both new and old to celebrate their fifteen years.

If you haven’t heard it where have you been?:
“Miuzi Weighs A Ton” and “Welcome To The Terrordome” – The original is much better than this poor live recording.
“Fight The Power” – This gives you a good idea of the intensity of Public Enemy even though it’s tough to listen to the vocals.
“Public Enemy No. 1” – A terrible remix.

New Good:
“Gotta Give The Peeps What They Need” – Spreading the lyrical superiority of Chuck D.

New so-so:
“Revolverlution” – Spotty at best.
“Put It Up” – Shaky.
“Can A Woman Make A Man Lose His Mind? – I always look forward to the Flavor Flav songs, but this one is no where near good.
“Son Of A Bush” – Chuck D. has given us more in the past when on a lyrical mission.
“Get Your Shit Together”

I’m not sure why Public Enemy put this record out other than they didn’t have enough new material to make an entire record. Need an example? Then try “The Making Of Burn Hollywood Burn”. What is that?
