Up until the vocals came in, I was digging the Paper Chase. Then out came this arty punk bullshit. Instead of bringing me inside, it left me out. For the most part, the off the chart music just couldn’t overcome the annoying lyrics. So what’s the deal with this group? “Apple Pies and Alibis” just deviates from popular music. No structure or orientation makes this song dance. Then they get into some Nine Inch Nails with the conception “Neat, Manageable Piles”. I have no way to explain the Paper Chase and what they produce. Good thing? Not if what you produce is music.
