Pink Floyd’s The Wall is an age-defying phenomenon. Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81 is a commemorative of the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Pink Floyd studio album, The Wall.
The double disc is not only amazing to listen to, but the booklets included are fabulous. The photos and commentary are worth the price of admission alone. Then there is never before released music, including “What Shall We Do Now?”, which is available on CD for the first time and only previously heard in the film Pink Floyd – The Wall. “The Last Few Bricks” has never been released in any form except here.
The Wall was, and is still, a masterpiece. This live version just sends shivers down my spine, track after track. It doesn’t make up for not being there, but since twenty years has passed, it’s your only hope to get some of that energy.
