The San Fran group Beulah scored big with When Your Heartstrings Break. Now two years later The Coast Is Never Clear, and neither is their future.
Beulah writes songs for the love of the song. Each song embodies their extensive styles that when brought together sound original and unique. Listen to the cheekiness of “A Good Man Is Easy To Kill”. It’s as refreshing as a summer rain. The lounge is open on “What Will You Do When Your Suntan Fades?”.
Beulah produces enjoyable songs. The problem is that after a few songs the album gets a bit too mellow, not to mention it sounds a taste too much like Pavement. It’s not quite as quirky and much easier on the palate. Beulah is a must listen for those seeking what they think they are missing.
