Corporate Line: Pitch Black’s long awaited debut album Pitch Black Law is brimming with bangers and ready to go. The first single “It’s All Real” is produced by none other than DJ Premier who also appears in the video which is currently in rotation on BET. Other heavy hittin producers such Swizz Beats, Teddy Riley, and Tone from The Trackmasters have laced this album with mind-blowing tracks, and guest appearances from Wyclef, Busta Rhymes, and Foxy Brown ensure broad appeal. “The sounds on the album are varied, we got stuff for the ladies, for the fellas, and of course it’s all hard, true hip-hop.”
The Good:
“It’s All Real” – The scratch, the cut, the style is old-school. Bring it on!
The Average:
“Pop Off” – Radio ready single-and that’s not exactly good.
The Ugly:
“Recognize” and “Geecy” – Bad attempts at radio singles. Instead they sound like weak rappers relying on a weak hook to take the focus off their lack of skills.
“My Life” – Rhymes that are so weak even Snoop Dogg is embarrassed.
“Good Times” and “Stop My Team” – If you have to anchor your ship to other people’s rhymes then you know you’ve picked the wrong profession.
Frankly: Pitch Black is a gang of weak MCs. If you can’t handle the mic then just leave it alone.
