B.G. – Livin’ Large

B.G.
Artist: B.G.
Title: Livin’ Large
Label: Koch
Rating: 5/10

Corporate line: “If you do your homework or research on me, this is my seventh album and I’ve done two or three group albums,” explains the former member of the platinum group the Hot Boy$. “I’m a living legend, one of the few that’s got as many solo albums as 2Pac. A lot of people don’t know that.”

The Good:
“Clean Up Man” – Not his best, but the best this has to offer.
“Only 4 U” and “Let It Flow” – Wyndi brings the hook while B.G. seals the deal.

The Bad:
“Reality Check” – It’s a shot at his old Cash Money crew, but you know who needs the reality check? The one dropping the rhymes.
“Keep It Gangsta” – He keeps it gangsta but thanks God first and foremost. Conflict of interest?
“My Son & Daughter” – Wanted to like it but its just not good.
“Real N***as & Real B***hes” – It’d be gold if swearing were the only prerequisite to a good song.
“Do What You Do” – Apparently saying the same thing over and over is a song. Wrong.

Frankly: B.G. seems to have bailed on Cash Money with his own label Chopper City, big mistake. The beats all sound the same and without any soul. No beat, no meat. B.G. is a living legend in his own mind only. Want a living legend? LL Cool J.
