Mystikal left one of the richest indie labels to join one of the hottest major labels, Jive. The outcome means hotter beats and a fresher outlook. Mystikal has the sort of voice that cuts right through you and brings you down like a brick wall. “Come See About Me” finds him sharing barbs with Da Brat and Petey Pablo. “Big Truck Boys” has a chilled attitude with a cliquey melody. Outkast rips up “Neck Uv Da Woods”, waiting for Mystikal to get to the heart of matters in “Ain’t Gonna See Tomorrow”. The best thing about Let’s Get Ready is the album is almost all Mystikal. He keeps the guests at a minimum and chooses to rip up the terrain all by himself.
