Mile sounds sonically fun right from the start, but it’s otherwise pretty generic. “Back To The Floor” isn’t to be scoffed at, but then again it isn’t a hit. “Sunday Morning” has a simplistic approach that hits home. It’s a question of God and everything that surrounds that idea. It’s deep and troubling, a nice contradiction between the troubled spirit and the seemingly tender track.
Just as the first track had me thinking down on these guys, they whip out “Perfect Ending”. It’s very tight at every angle. In a similar vein comes “Someone Had To Save Me”, and then there is the toe-tapping joy of “The Way Home”.
Miles works tender well, leaving us on that note with “(In The Mood For) Johnny Cash”. Driving Under Stars is a nice surprise, sort of like when you see a star zinging across the sky and you get that feeling the wish you made could change everything.
