Corporate Line: U-Turn features an impressive line-up with cameo appearances by Nelly, Carl Thomas, Tyrese, Kirk Franklin, and other heavy-hitters. The album features a more eclectic McKnight as he glides effortlessly from slow soulful ballads to up-tempo hip-hop tracks.
The Good:
“All Night Long” – McKnight and Nelly together make for one sweet duo.
“So Sorry” – You know those goosebumps you get when you hear a good song? Get ready for more.
“Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda” – It’s in his soul.
“Try Our Love Again” and “Someday, Someway, Somehow” – You could listen to this forever.
“U Turn” – Unique sample holds up another fantastic McKnight outing.
“For The Rest Of My Life” – Light on instruments, but not on satisfaction.
“Good Enough” – McKnight has a solid group of singers join him for an all-star sing off.
The Middle:
“Back Seat” – Lovely.
“Been So Long” – Another pretty song.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Frankly: Brian McKnight is the rare artist that always delivers, always. McKnight is the current King of Soul.
