The Barenaked Ladies have already lasted longer than the average national artist. Their latest release, Maroon, is the Barenaked Ladies’ we’ve come to know and love. They’ve grown more mature and insightful, adding to our enjoyment.
BNL still knows how to make the serious lighthearted. “Never Do Anything” forges ahead with their silly flavor. “Pinch Me” has single written all over it. The verse lulls you as the chorus picks you up like a cup of mocha. “Go Home” crosses rock and country. It has a sweet trot that rolls into “Falling For The First Time”. BNL knows how to get serious and “Conventioneers” proves it.
“Humour Of The Situation” sums up the album best. When life gets ugly, enjoy it. Good always follows, and that is BNL’s spirit.
