Ultra V has this resounding resemblance to everyone that’s making music today. The whole rap and rock thing is as played out as the boy band thing, yet there are still hangers on.
“Playboy Mansion” mixes hip-hop and rock. Like I haven’t heard that before. “Alphabet Lounge” is a song about nothing, which is okay, but it doesn’t even end up to be more than its substance. “Igloo” is dopey, and not in a good way. Ultra V seems to get it together enough for “Heartful Of Rain”, then they do it again with a lot less flair with “Come On”.
Ultra V finds a groove and never lets it go. They go four songs fast, three slow, and then they just really go nowhere.
