Liquid Gang has been scaring up Philadelphia, and now they’re ready to take their sound to another level. Sunshine is a heavy both in emotion and instrumentation.
Sunshine’s first track, “Breakdown”, speaks on a few levels. You can take it at face value, but you’ll be missing the bigger picture. “Closer” is pretty straightforward rock with a melody you’ll find under a tight groove. I was thrown by “A Better View”. It’s slow, passionate, and doesn’t seem to fit after the first few tracks. And that is what makes it even more enjoyable.
From track six and onward, the album starts to sound a bit too much like a big hair band. Sunshine is a split. Half is enjoyable and unexpected; the other half is predictable and too generic.
