Lil’ Keke is bursting with hip-hop mixed with hopping choruses. “Platinum In The Ghetto” bursts with the potential of a hit single written all over it. I’m sure everyone will compare him to Nelly, even though he’s got nothing on Nelly or his St. Lunatics. “Callin My Name” is a close relative to the St. Louis foundation.
Keke kicks out an almost ballad with “Do You Love It”. There are a number of tracks to like, but there are a number to dislike. Side two, which I consider to be tracks eleven to nineteen, is extremely weak. “Cowgirl” and “Bad Man” are awful. “Where My Dog At”? Come on, are you serious? “Off Da Chain”? Can we get more clichéd? And am I supposed to be impressed that Lil’ Keke talks about being a “3 Time Felon”? Give me a break. Maybe instead of rapping, Keke should be relaxing in a cell somewhere.
