Australia’s The Avalanches have thrown Since I Left You into the ring and I’m not sure what to make of these eighteen tracks.
The title track, “Since I Left You”, thrills you from the beginning while “Stay Another Season” crushes from Madonna and moves on to more ambitious motives. I don’t know that I care as much for MC tracks like “Flight Tonight” as I do the songs like “A Different Feeling” that make you just want to get up and dance.
The Avalanches bring music to us in mighty ways. They spin everything in and out of control with ease. Their sound isn’t signature techno. It may occasionally work in a nightclub and sometimes it works just fine sitting in your room eating up your time.
