TP-2.com stands for Twelve Play 2000. An updated R. Kelly? Not really. The album is overrun by ballads. Mostly forgive-me-for-this or lets-get-it-on. Blah, blah, blah.
How in the world such a talented singer like R. Kelly can continue to get away with such poor lyrics really isnt beyond me. Its his voice and his passion. The passion for which he sings these lame songs somehow gets him by. But for how long? Hes driving on retreads, singing about nothing and hoping youll just except his offerings.
There are a few tracks that stick out. “I Wish”, “I Mean (I Dont Mean It)”, and “R&B Thug”. With nineteen tracks, TP-12.com hasnt truly brought R. Kelly into the future, or at least I hope this isnt a vision of whats to come.
