Amidst financial troubles it seems this album might be the means to some end, or the beginning of the means. Recorded in October, they weren’t able to sit around and do much in the way of postproduction.
It’s live, recorded in New York City’s Madison Square Garden, but it’s mostly a best of with a few special guests; “Your Song” with Ronan Keating, “Sad Songs (Say So Much)” with Bryan Adams, and “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” with Mary J. Blige. Highlights include “Rocket Man”, “Daniel”, “Sacrifice”, and the original version of “Candle In The Wind”. Whether you are a huge fan or just an occasional listener, you’ll get the best of Elton John on One Night Only.
