Artist: Joi
Sound: R&B, with a touch of rawness.
Star:
“It’s Your Life” – a hook straight out of the ’70’s.
“17” of Snow” – if it doesn’t get you the first time it’ll be there the second time.
“Lick” – overt, raw and a good coming together of joi and Sleepy Brown.
“What If I Kissed You Right Now?” – quite a sexy ballad.
“Nicole” – a poignant song on a prostitute and losing her battles.
“Agnus Dei” – compelling and the most beautiful song on the album.
“Jefferson St. Joe” – gorgeous.
Average:
“Crave” – decent, but gets old.
“Munchies For Your Love” – sexy soul, but lame.
“Get On” – your average.
Weak:
“Techno Pimp” – a mistake.
“I’m A Woman”
If Joi had left off about five songs you would have still got ten great tracks and would have boosted Star Kitty’s Revenge a few more levels. Either way it’s still a fantastic, dynamic album.
