Corporate Line: You know him as a key member of IMX (formally Immature), as one of the stars of the hit television series “Sister, Sister” and for his credits on albums by hit-makers such as B2K and Destiny’s Child. Now, with the release of his first T.U.G. Entertainment solo album, a singer, songwriter and producer. “It’s not too ‘left’ from what I’ve done before with IMX,” he says. The difference is that this album is more about my own personal feelings and situations I’ve been in.” The lead off single, the lilting groove-flavored “Clubbin” produced by R. Kelly is a prime example.
The Good:
“That Girl” – This song was a single before on a different record label. It was a single then and its still a good single.
The Average:
“Clubbin’” – A decent dance track.
“Because Of You” – It’s R&B monotony which means it sounds like anything else.
The Ugly:
“Pop That Booty” – “Let me see you pop that booty” This couldn’t be any worse. He might soon be singing “let me see you get dropped from another record label”.
Frankly: Marques Houston has a history in Immature but here he sounds like a Craig David wannabe. Mh is unoriginal and not very interesting.
