Grand Theft Audio is a foursome from London that cooks pure meth hooks. With jaded songs about love and drugs mixed with candied melodies, you are never sure what to expect next.
“Stoopid Ass” comes with a honey of a hook complete with a Beastie Boys sample, a precursor for the Beastie-ish “Rock The House”, which if it were to get some decent airplay would certainly be huge.
Grand Theft Audio has a real Midnight Oil flavor to them, but you can’t hold anything against them as you soar through “We Luv U”. GTA have no problems working at producing larger than life tracks. Just take a listen to “As Good As It Gets”. It comes off very ordinary only to build into something more important.
Grand Theft Audio has a sound that is more unique the more you listen. It’s more rock than Limp Bizkit and less punk than the Sex Pistols. Somewhere in there they’ve found a happy medium and certainly some new fans.
