Company Line: On the brink of unleashing its third full-length album, FACELESS, the multi-platinum hard-rock group GODSMACK has already achieved more than most bands could ever dream of.
The Good:
“I Am” – The rare track on Faceless that you might get you pissed like albums past.
“Serenity” – The only track that shows some maturity. You’d think there’d be more tracks like this on Faceless, maybe next time.
The Marginal:
“Faceless” and “Straight Out Of Line” – Seems like they were written to be singles. The lyrics are stall and never leave an impression.
“Changes” – Another track that rocks yet leaves no reason to listen to it again.
“I Stand Alone” – Nice addition, but you have to wonder why it is here. Was it because they didn’t have enough songs? Or did they hope this might boost a weak release?
“Realign” – Harder than other tracks, but again the lyrics sound thrown together.
The Ugly:
“I F**king Hate You” – Sully’s vocals are poor and the lyrics are worse.
“Releasing The Demons” – Poor, poor, poor.
Frankly: Faceless is faceless. The record is quite boring. Godsmack is a band that is supposed to get you moving, get you feeling something even if it’s just pissed, but Faceless doesn’t do anything.
