Ghostface Killah is releasing his third solo album, Bulletproof Wallets. It seems with the Wu in all sorts of transitional periods, the crew keeps doing it solo, and at this pace they may run low on all kinds of material.
There are a few tracks that are memorable, like “Flowers” and “Maxine”. They feature the street knowledge and grim realism that has made Ghostface who he truly is. Then there are a few songs that do nothing but put forth a yawn, like “Strawberry” and “Jealousy”.
From inside “The Forest”, Ghostface gets off great lines as well as he does in “Ghost Showers” where he’s on about nothing but making money. In the end, that is really what Bulletproof Wallets is all about, the money. Cash rules everything again as the materialism gets in the way of a lot of potential enjoyment.
