Billy Gilman is the little boy with the huge voice. Here he fires off a dozen Christmas songs, some old, some new, but all amazing.
“White Christmas” comes with a little of a new package. Gilman rolls brilliantly through “Winter Wonderland”, “The Christmas Song”, and my favorites, “Jingle Bell Rock” and “Rock n Around The Christmas Tree”. His pitch is perfect for these adaptations.
More in the classic vein comes the second half of the album: “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “Silent Night”, “Oh Holy Night”, and “Away In The Manger”. Perhaps the one for the ages is Gilmans duet with Charlotte Church, “Sleigh Ride”.
Call it profiteering or whatever, but this album doesnt feel rushed or hasty. Gilman does each track justice and is a great addition to any Christmas collection.
