Ginuwine brings The Life alive. He unfolds much about himself and bookends a lot in fifteen tracks.
“Why Not Me” is a big hooky opener that really gets you ready to be turned out. “There It Is” exposes the truth behind those who pay the bills and those who run them up and Ginuwine sells it well.
Ginuwine gives us his best on ballads like “Differences” and “Tribute To A Woman”, and does well with “How Deep Is Your Love” until the mock operatic bridge comes falling down. “Open Arms” is more traditional love and longing. Ginuwine knows the spots and he hits them. I just think he overdoes it with the ballads. There is a point where you get about five in a row and that is more than I can take.
Ginuwine is a true talent. When he is giving all this away, you can’t deny him. “Two Reasons I Cry” is dedicated to the loss of his mother and father. It’s very sad and gave rise to many chills throughout my body. Ginuwine gives us his truth as only he knows it and for that alone I’m a fan.
