Boom! Perry Farrell comes out with a bang on Song Yet To Be Sung. So what if the bang is synthetic. The beats are heavy and don’t sound beyond his reason. “Happy Birthday Jubilee” is a curious track yet a new life for a man who has joined another label and is celebrating his own rebirth.
“Song Yet To Be Sung” is Sting-like and downright gorgeous. Speaking of gorgeous, “Shekina” is like baby powder falling from the sky. “Say Something” is brilliant. It’s ambient yet mixes up an elegant melody that never suffers under its own beauty.
“King Z” has a soundtrack-like appeal, not just some bad Adam Sandler movie either, but a big epic experience.
After the mess that was Perry Farrell’s last release, and supposed greatest hits, I had no hope for him to make a comeback. I’ve only got one thing to say: this is his best work yet!
