Eminem has either been a thorn in your ass or beloved. Depends on who you ask. And look out if you piss Eminem off cause you might end up in his latest hits. The Eminem Show picks up where the last record left off.
The Good:
“Cleanin’ Out My Closet” – A defensive move against a mother who he thinks sold him out.
“White America” – Politics mixed with strong, intelligent lyrics make for one damn good track.
“Halies Song” – Shows the softer side.
“Square Dance” – Bizarre, but still good.
“Sing For The Moment” – Features a reinvitation of Aerosmith’s “Dream On”.
The Average:
“Say Goodbye To Hollywood” and “Say What U Say” – Good tracks about the choices one makes.
“Soldier” and “The Drips” – Sound recycled.
“The Business” – Good, not great.
The Ugly:
Every skit on the record is absolutely annoying. I can’t figure out what made him proceed with these. Skip ’em!
The Marshall Mathers LP was a classic. The Eminem Show is a few steps back. It’s not as single oriented, which in some aspects is good, however with the skits and the few recycled tracks it falls back of the previous releases.
