Our Line: The Distillers are going to put punk rock on its ear.
The Good:
“Drain The Blood” – Brody Dalle’s vocals are brutal.
“Die On A Rope” – Feeling better?
“Coral Fang” – A mix of destruction and a taste of a hook gives you a song to deconstruct to.
“The Hunger” – Are we supposed to like the almost gentle side of the Distillers? Why the hell not?
“Love Is Paranoid” – Perfect for an evening of tenderness. Sike.
The Average:
“Dismantle Me” – Tries harder to avenge our affections.
“The Gallon is God”
“Beat Your Heart Out”
The Ugly:
If you can’t stand the heat… you know the rest.
Frankly: The Distillers aren’t for the weak. The inlay has drawings of body parts and the song titles aren’t much easier on the faint. Still Dalle’s voice is hard to escape as she shows wanna-be’s just what it takes to kick someone in the balls.
