“The Platform” is boastful. “No Retreat” continues the onslaught as B-Real shows up for a guest round. The Alkaholiks join in on the old school shout match “Right On”. “Ear Drums Pop” reminds me of when Jam Master Jay used to throw the hooks with nothing but a sample. Where would Run-DMC have been without Jay’s genius? Dilated Peoples have their own turntable master in Babu.
If you like your rhymes slick and full of life, where no one dies and the only ammo being shot is in someone’s words, then Dilated Peoples are for you. I found the album to be a fresh serving time and again.
