In 1992 the platform that would be known as DILATED PEOPLES began to take form. It started as a series of impromptu freestyle sessions in LA’s Hip-Hop Shop and has evolved constantly since. After an “educational” record deal, numerous tests, and a rebuilding period, DILATED decided to take their future into their own hands. In 1997 DILATED linked up with Beni B’s ABB Records label to release Third Degree (featuring Defari) with Confidence and Global Dynamics. This blaze next manifested as an inferno of a maxi-single named Work The Angles with The Main Event and Triple Optics. The record connected DILATED with fans around the planet and sounded an alarm that was heard by both the people and the media. Next came another brazen display of heavy artillery in the form of Rework The Angles (featuring AG, Defari, and Xzibit) with Guaranteed and Work The Angles (Evidence Remix) which again echoed worldwide. Already buzzing for 2000 is the new maxi-single and title track The Platform with Annihilation and The Platform Remix. Set to work the mind and body, the record once again displays the trio’s eclectic nature, consistency, and desire to “make the people listen, boogie down and move.” Containing selections from the upcoming DILATED PEOPLES LP “THE PLATFORM”, due in late spring 2000, these songs give a hint of the shape of things to come. “The Platform, takes respect to perfect the art form, at times a battle ground where rappers get their hearts torn.”
