Dashboard Confessional – A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar

Dashboard Confessional
Artist: Dashboard Confessional
Title: A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar
Label: Vagrant
Rating: 7/10

The Good:
“Hands Down” – It may take a listen or two before the infection catches up to you.
“Rapid Hope Loss” – Dynamically takes you over.
“Ghost Of A Good Thing” – As haunting a song with ghost in the title you can get.

The Average:
“Carve Your Heart Out Yourself” – Sounds a lot like any other punk band ballad.
“Carry This Picture” – This hush almost falls on deaf ears.
“As Lovers Go”

The Ugly:
Nothing.

Frankly: Dashboard Confessional isn’t really worth the heaps of buzz the press has given them. The record is good, just not revolutionary by any stretch. It’s a romatic sort of punk record. As the record wears on it starts to wear you down with its slow pace. Deep but the hole is almost endless.
