Snoop Dogg to release “More Malice: Deluxe Album and Movie”

Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg announced today that he will release the follow up to his latest release entitled More Malice: Deluxe Album and Movie on March 23rd. The new album will feature 5 songs from the previously released “Malice N Wonderland” along with 5 entirely new songs and 2 remixes. Included with More Malice will be a never-before-seen mini-movie entitled Malice N Wonderland The Movie which features Snoop in the title role with cameos from Jamie Foxx, Xzibit, Nipsey Hussle and more.

The first highly anticipated single from More Malice is the remix to fan favorite “I Wanna Rock” featuring superstar Jay Z. The two kings from their respective coasts take turns on the mic on this Scoop Deville produced club anthem. The single will be available on iTunes on January 26th. Additionally, the Snoop Dogg and Soulja Boy song, “Pronto,” gets the remix treatment with Southern alum Bun B jumping on the track.

In addition to new music, the 40 minute action packed movie included in the package tells the story of superhero Malice (played by Snoop Dogg) in his hometown of crime plagued Wonderland. The safety of the city is up to Malice who fights crime and strives to bring peace back to his neighborhood. Music from the accompanying album is featured throughout the dramatic film.

Snoop says, “The response to Malice N Wonderland has been so incredible that I had to drop another banger for the fans. They have been asking for more – so I’m giving them More Malice! I also wanted everyone to get something special so we are adding a mini-movie to the mix – with me in the starring role. Why Snoop Dogg lost his flow?

Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg
Snoop was on the Howard Stern show and he said that he used to keep a diary of rhymes. But he no longer does that. Instead he just flows on songs. It’s no wonder he isn’t as good as he used to be. I don’t care how great you are at ad libbing, it’ll never be as good as someone who has rehearsed and worked on tracks for a while to perfect them. In fact, it seems that Snoop has just gotten lazy.

Music doesn’t seem to be his number one interest anymore. Instead music has become a side project like everything else he does. Just one listen to Snoop kicking it in the early days compared to his most recent releases confirms his slide from the list of top MC’s to has been.

Snoop Dogg is readying the release of his tenth studio album, “Malice N Wonderland,” due out on December 8th, courtesy of EMI’s newly re-launched Priority Records, where he also serves as Creative Chairman. Fans can log on to Snoop’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/snoopdogg) to exclusively hear the album in its entirety. In preparation for the milestone album, Snoop will be performing his newest single, “I Wanna Rock,” on Fox’s hit show So You Think You Can Dance tonight.

As a follow up to the first single, “Gangsta Luv,” featuring The Dream, Snoop chose “I Wanna Rock” – a clever re-working of the classic Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s “It Takes Two” produced by Scoop Deville. The bouncy and infectious song is sure to lend itself to the latest “jerk movement” craze. Just released to mixshow last week, the song has gotten a tremendous amount of support and is generating a huge buzz. The accompanying video, directed by Eric Peyton, features guest appearances by Jamie Foxx and showcases incredible dance sequences from MTV’s 2009 America’s Best Dance Crew winners, Quest Crew, Power Rangers and the Snoopettes. The appearance on So You Think You Can Dance will mimic the video, with all starring dancers on stage with Snoop to create an energetic and unforgettable performance.

Snoop has also announced performances on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Last Call with Carson Daly, The Wendy Williams Show, One Life to Live and The Colbert Report as well as appearances on Larry King, The View, The Martha Stewart Show and The Wanda Sykes Show. Additionally, Snoop is the ESPN Artist of the Month in December. Throughout the month of December, songs from Malice N Wonderland will be featured throughout ESPN’s programming.

The forthcoming album title provides interesting results as the intersection of “malice” and “wonder” combines for an exciting listen. “When I started to put together this record I had a lot of malice in my heart-just focusing on making hardcore gangsta music,” explains Snoop. “But then my mood lightened and I wanted to make some music that just felt good…to me and to the ladies.” Producers who collaborated on “Malice N Wonderland” include hitmakers Teddy Riley, Pharrell, Lil Jon, among others along with guest appearances by artists such as R Kelly, Brandy, Jazmine Sullivan and Soulja Boy.
