It’s official! Every song on Janet’s NUMBER ONES is a number one hit. Janet’s newest single “Make Me” has shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play charts. Billboard hails the track as “Janet’s best dance song in years.” The single marks Janet’s 34th worldwide No. 1.
“Make Me”, which Janet produced with Rodney Jerkins, appears on her new two-disc set, NUMBER ONES (Ume/EMI). Along with “Make Me,” NUMBER ONES spans more than 20 years of chart-toppers, every #1 track spun off from Janet’s original albums, from her 1986 blockbuster breakthrough CONTROL to her most recent, 2008’s DISCIPLINE. This is the first greatest hits compilation from Janet in this century and celebrates the career and artistry of one of the most successful and influential artists in music history. Janet’s last hits collection was released in 1995.
The international version of the album, The Best, is currently gold in the UK.
Janet recently premiered the music video for “Make Me” on ABC-TV’s “20/20.” The premiere preceded Jackson’s 2009 AMA performance where she kicked off the show with a special medley of #1 hits.
